Do not book in until you have discussed any existing medical conditions with us.
You must inform us of any medical conditions including:
- Diabetes
- Heart conditions
- Blood disorders
- Pregnancy
- Allergies
- Skin conditions
- Compromised Immune response
- Any medications (including blood thinners)
A copy of our Medical Questionnaire is available here. Whilst many of these conditions may not prevent you from getting tattooed it is important that they are discussed/addressed before booking an appointment.
No… quite often a quick discussion via our contact form is enough to set the scene. You will only be offered a consultation if it is paramount that we see you in person before your appointment ie: if the design needs to be ‘sized up’.
Appointments can be made through our contact form. We can discuss your tattoo and advise how long a session to book. For ongoing work book through the online booking system on the website.
Big, bold, and built to last. Sota Tattoo specialises in large-scale, highly detailed work such as full back pieces, chest pieces, and arm and leg sleeves. Matt’s main themes include Realism, Mythology, Horror, Viking & Nordic imagery, Military subjects, and Black & Grey designs.
While Matt is best known for large-scale projects, smaller pieces are considered if they suit his style and can be executed to the same high standard.
Yes. Gift vouchers can be redeemed either in person at the studio or through the online booking system when scheduling your tattoo session.
Sota Tattoo works primarily by appointment due to the scale and complexity of the tattoos produced. Walk-ins are not usually available.
Absolutely. All tattoos are custom-designed in collaboration with you, based on your chosen theme and placement, ensuring a unique piece tailored to your body.

Large-scale tattoos such as back pieces or sleeves are usually completed over multiple sessions. The total time depends on size, detail, and skin type, and will be discussed during your consultation.
Yes. Sota Tattoo has been operating since 2008 and is fully insured and licenced, meeting all required health and safety standards.
Pain levels vary depending on the area being tattooed and individual tolerance. Large pieces are often broken into sessions to make the process more manageable.
Make sure you are well-rested, have eaten beforehand, and are well hydrated. Avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours prior to your session.
You will be given full aftercare instructions on the day. This includes cleaning, moisturising, and avoiding sun exposure and swimming while the tattoo heals.
Yes. Reference images are welcome and useful, especially for themed tattoos such as mythology, Viking, or military designs. Matt will adapt them into an original tattoo design.
Pricing depends on the size, complexity, and number of sessions required. A quote or estimate can be given once your idea and placement are discussed.
