1. General Terms

1.1 By booking an appointment, paying a deposit, purchasing a gift voucher, or receiving a tattoo at SOTA TATTOO Ltd, you agree to these Terms of Business.

1.2 All tattoo services are provided in accordance with UK health, safety, and local authority licensing regulations.

1.3 We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for reasons including (but not limited to):
Being under the influence of drugs or alcohol
Aggressive, inappropriate, or unsafe behaviour
Medical concerns that may affect safe tattooing
Designs that are offensive, discriminatory, or unlawful

2. Age Restrictions

2.1 You must be 18 years or older to be tattooed.

2.2 Valid government-issued photographic ID (passport or driving licence) is required for all new clients. No exceptions.

3. Consultations & Design Work

3.1 Large-scale and custom work requires consultation prior to booking.

3.2 All designs remain the intellectual property of the artist until fully paid for. Designs may not be copied, reproduced, or taken to another studio without written permission.

3.3 Minor design adjustments can be made on the day of the appointment. Significant redesigns may require rescheduling and may incur additional cost.

4. Booking & Deposits

4.1 A non-refundable deposit is required to secure all appointments.

4.2 Deposits:
Secure your appointment time
Cover design preparation
Are deducted from the final session cost

4.3 Deposits are non-refundable under all circumstances, including change of mind.

4.4 Deposits may be transferred to a new appointment date if at least 48 hours’ notice is provided. Failure to provide 48 hours’ notice will result in loss of deposit.

4.6 Repeated cancellations or rescheduling may require a new deposit.

5. Online Booking

5.1 Online booking is available via our website booking system.

5.2 When booking online, you must:

Provide accurate contact information
Pay the required deposit at checkout

5.3 Online bookings are not confirmed until deposit payment has been received and a confirmation email has been issued.

5.4 It is your responsibility to check confirmation details and notify us of any errors.

6. Pricing & Payment

6.1 Prices are determined time required. You can book an hour, a half or a full day online.

6.2 Full-day and half-day sessions must be paid in full on the day of the appointment.

6.3 Accepted payment methods: Cash, or Bank Transfer.

6.4 Quotes are estimates only and may vary if the design or scope changes.

7. Cancellations & No-Shows

7.1 If you fail to attend your appointment without notice, your deposit will be forfeited.

7.2 Arriving more than 20 minutes late may result in cancellation and loss of deposit.

7.3 If we need to reschedule due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., illness), your deposit will be transferred to the next available date.

8. Health & Medical Conditions

8.1 You must inform us of any medical conditions including:
Diabetes
Heart conditions
Blood disorders
Pregnancy
Allergies
Skin conditions
Any medications (including blood thinners)

A copy of our Medical Questionnaire is available (HERE-link) . Whilst many of these conditions may not prevent you from getting tattooed it is important that they are discussed/addressed before booking an appointment.

8.2 We reserve the right to request medical clearance before proceeding.

8.3 You must not attend your appointment if you are unwell.

8.4 Deposits will be forfeit if Medical Conditions that prevent you from being tattooed are identified at your appointment. This can be avoided by discussing medical conditions before booking.

9. Aftercare & Liability

9.1 Aftercare instructions will be provided. It is your responsibility to follow them carefully.

9.2 We are not liable for issues arising from:
Failure to follow aftercare
Allergic reactions
Improper healing
Pre-existing skin conditions

10. Gift Vouchers

10.1 Gift vouchers are available for purchase online and in-studio.

10.2 Vouchers:
Are valid for 12 months from date of purchase
Are non-refundable
Cannot be exchanged for cash

10.3 Lost, stolen, or damaged vouchers cannot be replaced.

10.4 Vouchers must be presented at time of appointment.

10.5 If the tattoo cost exceeds voucher value, the remaining balance must be paid on the day.

11. Photography & Marketing

11.1 We may photograph completed work for portfolio, website, and social media use.

11.2 If you do not wish your tattoo to be photographed or shared, you must inform us before the session begins.

12. Intellectual Property

12.1 Custom designs remain the intellectual property of the artist.

12.2 Permission must be obtained for commercial reproduction of any tattoo artwork.

13. Right to Amend
We reserve the right to update these Terms of Business at any time. The latest version will always be available on our website.

14. Privacy & Data Protection (GDPR)
At SOTA TATTOO LTD, we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

14.1 Information We Collect
When you book an appointment, purchase a voucher, or contact the studio, we may collect the following information:

Name
Email address
Telephone number
Date of birth
Medical information relevant to tattooing
Appointment history
Payment information (processed securely via third-party payment providers)

This information is collected to ensure safe tattoo procedures and to manage bookings effectively.

14.2 Why We Collect Your Data

Your personal data is collected for the following purposes:

Booking and managing appointments
Contacting you regarding your appointment
Maintaining legally required tattoo consent records
Health and safety compliance
Processing payments and gift vouchers
Providing aftercare advice or follow-up communication

We only collect the minimum amount of information necessary to provide our services safely and professionally.

14.3 Medical Information

Medical information disclosed during consultations or consent forms is used solely to ensure tattoo procedures are carried out safely.

This information is treated as confidential health information and stored securely.

14.4 Data Storage & Security

Your personal data is stored securely and only accessible to authorised personnel.

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data from:

Loss
Misuse
Unauthorised access
Disclosure

Tattoo consent forms may be stored securely in digital or physical format as required by local authority regulations.

14.5 Data Retention

Tattoo consent records may be retained for a period required by local authority licensing regulations and health & safety guidelines.

Typically, records may be stored for up to 6 years.

After this period, records will be securely destroyed or deleted.

14.6 Sharing Your Data

We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Your information may only be shared when necessary with:

Payment processing providers
Booking system providers
Legal or regulatory authorities if required by law

All third-party services used by the studio are expected to comply with GDPR requirements.
